Dr. Kelli Tillquist is a staff psychologist at Boise State University Counseling Services. Dr. Tillquist received her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University in San Diego, California and completed her APA internship in a community mental health setting at Norton Sound Health Corporation in Nome, Alaska. Following internship, Dr. Tillquist completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Alvarado Parkway Institute Behavioral Health Systems, an inpatient setting, where she later served as Assistant Director of the Psychology and Addictive Disorders Department. In this role, Dr. Tillquist oversaw the training of post-doctoral fellows, APA interns, pre-doctoral practicum students, and pre-masters practicum students before returning to her home state of Idaho. Dr. Tillquist’s clinical experience includes working with the severe and persistently mentally ill with diagnosis of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe depression, and suicidality, as well as experience working with adults with severe intellectual disability. She has a special interest working with underserved populations, multicultural backgrounds, and LGBTQIA+ populations. She uses a variety of techniques and evidence-based treatment approaches which utilize a client’s strengths to foster growth and empowerment. In her free time, Dr. Tillquist loves outdoor adventures, spending time with her family and friends, trying new places to eat, and walking her two dogs.
