Amy Sutherland
Amy Sutherland is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England and an intern at the ISU Counseling and Mental Health Center and ISU Family Medicine. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Wellesley College, her M.Ed. at Boston College, and her MS at Antioch University New England. She has worked in a science fiction and fantasy bookstore, taught 7th grade, and homeschooled her own child. Amy’s clinical experience includes: school-based assessment at the elementary and high school levels; individual therapy with older adults in a Primary All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) setting; and individual and group therapy with children, family therapy, and assessment of children in a community mental health setting. She is passionate about providing individualized, respectful care to clients across the lifespan, and is particularly interested in working as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver care in a way that feels safe, accessible, and welcoming to people who might have felt excluded from mental healthcare services in the past. She loves being in Pocatello for her internship year, especially the energetic and enthusiastic atmosphere of ISU and the numerous trails to explore just minutes from her door.
