The Internship Experience

This site will offer focused training in psychological/neuropsychological testing. The testing population will primarily consist of pediatric patients referred for neurodevelopmental assessment but will also include some adult testing patients. Interns will gain thorough experience in the assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Specific Learning Disorders, and Intellectual Disabilities, as well as the emotional and behavioral sequelae associated with those diagnoses. Services will include clinical interviews, test administration and scoring, writing evaluation reports, and meeting with patients and caregivers for interpretive feedback sessions. Supervision will occur weekly with a licensed psychologist. Interns will consult regularly with prescribers and counselors during staff meetings, as well as attend and assist with presentations with local family medicine residents, psychiatry residents, and community partners. Some psychotherapy experience will be available, if desired by the intern.
