John Pipolo
John is a psychology intern who is pursuing his PsyD degree in clinical psychology from Alliant International University in Los Angeles. He received his Masters of Science degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from CSU Fresno. He also received his Masters of Arts degree in Psychology from Alliant International University.
As a master’s level graduate trainee, John has experience providing educational and vocational services for college students with disabilities. At the doctoral level, John provided neuropsychological assessments for older adult populations as well as therapy in college counseling, inpatient hospital, and private practice settings.
When working with his clients, John largely operates within a humanistic lens. Viewing his clients as a whole and unique person in relation to their presenting challenges is at the epicenter of his care. He emphasizes the importance of creating a safe and warm environment to facilitate a strong therapeutic alliance and client exploration of their authentic selves to foster growth and change.
His professional interests also include culturally informed care, disability affirmative therapy, vocational counseling, ADHD/ASD assessment, identity development, behavioral health, and adjustment to phase of life challenges. Outside the office, John is an avid trail runner, fisherman, MMA fan, and is likely exploring the best food vendors that Boise has to offer!
